Our Story

I had lived in Melbourne, Australia for 14 years and was commuting 1.5 hours twice a day to a stressful executive sales role.

Whilst I loved living in Australia, I was becoming more unhappy in my professional life. My parents had never complained when I went to the other side of the world for a couple of years and didn’t come back! .

My Dad was suddenly taken seriously ill and I rushed to get the next available flight home. 27 hours later I was back in the UK and thankfully Dad was on the mend. It had been 8 years since I had been home in the summer and I was reminded of how amazing our countryside is. I grew up on a farm and the family had recently added 55 acres of derelict fruit farm in Snitterfield, Stratford upon Avon (soon to become The Apple Farm). Shakespeare’s country is truly glorious and I could see so many exciting opportunities and experiences to be shared.

After 4 weeks I flew back to Australia made up my mind and started a plan! I walked out on my job (that was a good feeling!), spent 4 weeks selling and packing my possessions and landed back in the UK on 21st December 2015. My 2 dogs landed 2 days later.

Dad sadly passed away in Spring 2016 which slowed our plans down for a while. He thought that Glamping was a great idea and I'm sure that he would be proud of where we are now.

We are now starting our 9th season with Bell Tent glamping and the 4th full season camping. I planned our glamp site in the middle of the Apple orchards and ultimately created a place that I would love to stay in which is “The Ultimate Countryside Experience”

New projects for this year include solar electricity for fridges, expansion of our Juice and Organic Beef businesses and Farm tours and activities.

Snitterfield Fruit Farm was famed for its PYO in the late 70’s and 80’s and its really exciting learning the history of the farm. We are also looking into developing a “Care Farm” to share our farm with those with special needs. My Brother has Cerebral Palsy which gives us an awareness of the special needs community and gave us the idea.
